Schuler Cues

Choice of champions, great players know that quality and craftsmanship is the legacy of Schuler Cue. Ray Schuler learned his craft from legendary cuemaker Herman Rambow and added his own innovations, most notably the "Schuler joint".

In the 1950s and 1960s, Hall of Fame cue craftsman Herman Rambow set the standard of quality and craftmaneship with the astonishing performance of his cues. In the 1970's, Ray Schuler, mentored by Herman Rambow in the art of cue-making, added an innovative joint to the legendary Rambow design.  That joint, now known around the world as the "Schuler Joint", was the first of many innovations that Ray Schuler introduced while continuing the legacy of fine, hand-selected woods, careful craftsmanship, and unswerving passion for the game. The legacy continues with a new generation of designers and craftspeople mentored by Ray Schuler until his passing in November 2002.

The Incredible Schuler Joint

When Ray Schuler set out to improve on the outstanding cues created by his mentor, Herman Rambow, he applied his engineering background and his experience as a player to create the famous Schuler joint. Unlike ordinary threaded joints, the Schuler joint is designed to promote maximum transmission of feel between the tip and the grip. The result is the unmistakable "hit" of the Schuler legacy cue.

Precision Balanced

The Schuler joint adds less weight than the stud screw alone adds to most other cues.

High Performance Materials

The Schuler joint uses lightweight metal hardware. Other cues that use wood-screw, or metal-into-wood, must be handled so as not to harm the fragile wooden threads of the joint. The Schuler Joint has the strength but not the weight of a heavy steel mechanism, and all the feel of a wooden-screw joint without the fragility.

"Hit"

Wood-to-wood contact transmits the full intensity of the stroke to the ball, without chunks of metal in the way to dampen feedback.

Natural Balance

Weight is distributed naturally throughout the cue, yielding a better feel in the player's hand. Other cues have up to three  ounces of metal weighting the joint.

Control

The flat-faced, wood-to-wood joint gives the solid "Schuler" feel while delivering the power of the stroke and transmitting feedback to the hand, like a fine performance automobile transmits the feel of the road.

Secure Joint Connection

The fit of the Schuler joint gets tighter as the faces draw near. This lets you know that the cue is solidly joined. No more worrying about over-tightening.

Time Tested

The Schuler joint is designed to be extremely durable. With more than twenty-five years of Schuler cues in the field, the integrity of the Schuler joint has fully proven itself.
